RESISTANCE

There are things in life that have a tremendous amount of meaning to us.
When we try to deny that, we end up stuffing those emotions.
We feel like it shouldn’t be a big deal.
We downplay the importance it may have to us. We think we are protecting ourselves.
Resist those feelings. React, don’t feel. Stuff them away. Ignore them.
I was a resistor.
And a reactor.
Ok, also a stuffer.
As I begin to admit to myself the truth about how much I’m affected by the events in my life, I am able to experience my emotions.
Do I cry more often?
Yep.
Does that bother me?
Sometimes.
But I’ve learned to embrace it. And my friends are on board.
It’s not healthy to resist our feelings.
Or deny them.
Or react to them.
Feeling our stuff is the key.
That’s how we recognize that something is wrong.
From there we can change.
And change equals growth.
